Susie was a proud graduate of Jones High School, Class of 1948, venturing onward to graduate from the School of Business in Detroit, Michigan. And in 1952, she was elected “Miss Negro Chamber of Commerce” of Orlando, by successfully competing in a drive to enroll the most individuals as members of the Negro Chamber of Commerce. Susie was an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church of Orlando where she served on Usher Board #1. After her retirement, and with her love for children, she volunteered at Ridgewood Park Elementary as a foster grandparent.
